I wanted to put more of the nature-like feeling into it, but also have more of the walking scenes because they were my favorite to edit with. I liked editing this final video because it gave me one last opportunity to create new sounds with images. I might also be exploring in McKinley Marina. I feel like these will be good places to record because I know the area well.
For Trek 3 I will be taking pictures ONLY when the camera is shaking and I will be taking motion shots of either myself or of others walking. And, if at all possible, I will be exploring again with up close images.
For sound, I will be working with short sharp bursts of sounds. Sounds that will come out of nowhere and grab your attention but at the same time work with what is being shown. I will also be trying to work with noises that go from side to side or from one to the other. Mostly, I would be working with drone-noises (like generators or things with static sound). I will also be concetrating on walking or foot noises. . .

My 10 Questions

1. I was at Atwood park taking big, open pictures because they're my favorite. I went down to the beach because there seemed to be a lot of people over there. The first picture I took was one of my favorites. It was of a group of girls that were huddled right next to the shore, I took a lot of pictures of them from all sorts of different angles. I felt good because everything was perfectly framed, I felt like it should be in a calender or a magazine. I guess it affected me a lot because my goal is to be behind a camera (A film director). And walking around and getting angles like that made me feel almost as important; like a cinematographer. I also love photography so it also made me feel like a photographer.

Trek Assesment #3

My first suprise I felt was how much longer it took to do the first trek. It was much longer than I had anticipated. This was both good and bad. Bad simply because it took longer than expected, but good because it gave me more of a realization for the next two treks. I was much more ready for the second trek.
the second suprise was how much fun I had doing the 2nd trek. I originally thought it would be me taking pictures, but when I got out there I realized how much fun it was to time things right, wait for the right moment, getting neat and unique angles for shots and watching people be themselves like there wasn't anyone else around.
The third unexpected situation came from an "on the spot" decision. I was taking pictures of up close objects but told myself I really didn't want any flower shots because they were too cliche. But I decided to take a few just in case I needed them. And as I was taking them, some bees landed on them. I got some terrific shots of bees on flowers.

Trek Assesment #2

The only times I really felt at peace were during the trek 1 recordings. Some of the sounds that I was recording were very peaceful. Trek 2 was more about being at the right place at the right time so I really didn't have time to relax.
The first situation was when I was recording some kids playing on the playground. I just closed my eyes and let the sound completely take me over. It really felt like I was watching a movie. But I could make up what was going on.
The other situation was when I went to Lake park and went into the woods near the playground. There were birds chirping in the trees above so I closed my eyes and pictured some exotic jungle. It actually made me feel warmer because it was pretty cold that day.

Trek Assesment #1

What first bothered and aggrivated me about trek 1 was that it took longer than I had anticipated. I had also not picked a very good day to record because it was fairly windy. It was stressful not to get the sounds I wanted in the beginning, but as it went on, I relaxed more and things came together.
What shocked me was how well the microphones picked up sounds. I could hear things in the far of distance that I wouldn't be able to hear if I wasn't wearing them.

For trek 2, it was difficult for me to get good pictures of my first strategy (which was shadows) so I replaced it with bigger shots. It stressed me out in the beginning because I didn't really know how to go about taking pictures because I had never done something like this before. When I ws editing, I wsa shocked at how well some of the pictures turned out.
